"Misplaced affections, conflicted thoughts, anger, sorrow, and confusion all work to pull me apart at the seams. What is the right choice? What path am I supposed to take this time? Am I truely strong enough to handle the pain? Can I really do what is asked of me?" The questions piled up upon one another like misshapen building blocks and it was all he could to not to chuckle in mild amusement. His eyes, two sympathetic puddles of chrome studied her tear stained face carefully. He found it ironic that her life had become, in a sense, far more difficult than his own twisted reality and yet, as he stared at her trembling form, his heart wept.

"You worry too much about what might be..." He murmured out softly, wrapping his arms about her and allowing her to bury her face in his chest. She clung to him like a starving leech and basked in his warmth, relishing the temporary comfort. His scent, a combination of the rain, the sand, and wild blossoms soothed her weary senses.

"Can you really blame me?" She hiccuped out weakly, earning a light snort from him as he ran his fingers through her untamable mane of hair.

"Maybe it's a sign for you to take it easy on me and the others? Y'know, karma and all that," He responded with a grin, gaining himself a light punch to the gut that he reacted to dramatically.

"Shuddap before I turn you into a chick!" She bit out, barely supressing the watery smile that tried to leak through her frustration.
